Coffee time with the victims…
I’m sitting here at Starbucks. I’ve been here for about 3 hours. Just sitting here doing some work because the internet isn’t hooked up at my new house.
(BTW, I find it funny that Starbucks wants to charge me for wifi, but the store next door has it for free - guess which one I’m connected to.)
So the place is packed and there’s a table right next me with 4 girls in their 30’s whose conversation I’ve been privy to the entire time, and it’s SCARY.
I’ve heard 3 hours of victim mentality ad nauseam. Think of the worst thing that ever happened to you in your life and I think I heard it tonight from these girls. I was going to keep score to see how many positive comments they barked to each other versus how many negative comments they spewed with zeal.
Well, I gave up after 20 to nothing in favor of the negativity.
I generally avoid negativity at all costs, but overhearing this conversation kind of validated to me how critical it is to watch what you say and think about.
We truly attract and create what we want. And I’m convinced these girls have created this misery they live in. Unfortunately, I don’t see much hope for them until they can change their mind and decide to release their drama and create abundance in their lives. It’s really scary.
I also know that you can’t change people — they have to change themselves. And I imagine when these girls get together, their negativity grows exponentially. I don’t see how I could ever help them see another way. Maybe if I got one of them alone in a one-on-one situation.
Well, as I’m finishing this post, the lightbulb in the ceiling popped and went dead just as they were seething an F-word-laden story back and forth to each other. Gee, I wonder why THAT happened.
(Hey don’t get me wrong, I like to drop the F-bomb as much as the next guy, but ya gotta do it with style.)
And then they all got up and said, “Boy, that was fun! Let’s do it again sometime.”
I’ve been away from the world of “bitch sessions” for so long, I forgot how bad it is, but I remember it well, because I used to do the same thing… and I’m so glad it’s not a part of my life any more.

Fun with the Neti Pot
Eben Pagan is a pretty damn brilliant marketer. If you haven’t heard of him, you will.
He uses very obscure memory devices so you don’t forget him. I’m certain he does this on purpose, and one such device is actually a physical device I thought I’d try out. It’s called a Neti Pot.
I had never heard of this strange thing before Eben talked about it, and I’m open to trying out new things, and this thing sounded strange enough… so why not?
It’s basically a glorified way to pour water up your nose. Here’s a little video I made.
CAUTION: If you are offended by snot, or nose-blowing in general, DO NOT watch this video. I’m serious. For real. Stop it.
